Fifth Third Arena renovation on track at University of Cincinnati

The $87 million renovation of the University of Cincinnati's Fifth Third Arena is tracking to be completed in time for the 2018-2019 basketball season.

A recent update from UC Athletic Director Mike Bohn revealed progress on new seating products in the arena, which will decrease its capacity from 13,176 to 12,012 when it reopens next season.

Renovation features include two 360-degree concourses, new padded, chairback seating in the lower bowl, and a HD video board.

The new upper-level concourse will include more restrooms and concession stands. Throughout the venue, new premium seating options, including 16 suites and three exclusive club areas, are all due to come online next season.

Bearcats men’s basketball home games are being played at Northern Kentucky University's BB&T Arena this season. UC women's basketball and volleyball teams are currently playing home games at St. Ursula Academy. All teams will return in 2018 to Fifth Third Arena, following the building’s first major renovation since its opening in 1989.
