Simon Ancliffe is the founder and Executive Director of people flow and analytics company Movement Strategies, which is part of the GHD group. Movement Strategies is the largest crowd dynamics and simulation consultancy in the world and a global leader in the analysis and application of movement and behaviour data from cellular phones and cameras.
Simon has advised on many of the world’s iconic stadiums, arenas, festivals and events – Wembley, Wimbledon, O2, Hong Kong Jockey Club, Tottenham Hotspur FC’s new stadium, and Olympics as well as crowded places such as the Grand Mosque in Mecca. He is a contributor to the (Green) Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds and its recent update for Social Distancing, a contributor to UK National Counter Terrorism Security Office guidance on Crowded Places, and the co-author of “Guidance on designing for crowds – an integrated approach”.
