Just six months after New Jersey legalized sports gambling, the NHL’s Devils have added a sports betting lounge to the Prudential Center. The William Hill Sports Lounge capitalizes on the nearly $1 billion generated since legalization – $539 million online and $388 million in person at casinos and racetracks.
The Prudential Center’s new gambling lounge features big screen televisions and all the latest action, but it will not have cashiers taking cash bets, which is illegal at sports venues in New Jersey. Online bets are taxed at a higher rate than in person bets.
All bets will be made on the William Hill app, although, staff will be available to answer questions and train guests on the betting process.
