David Nelson is entering his 12th season in professional sports and entertainment, all in the Carolinas. In his current role as Senior Director of Premium Sales & Services with Tepper Sports & Entertainment he oversees and leads all strategy for Premium Sales and Services through multiple avenues and lines of business across all three entertainment properties: Carolina Panthers, Charlotte FC & Bank of America Stadium Major Events. In addition to premium memberships across all major stadium events, he oversees the non-gameday private events sales team in which their efforts drive incremental revenue for Tepper Sports & Entertainment.
Originally from the Boston area, he relocated to North Carolina where he attended UNC Charlotte to achieve a degree in business which led to the start of his NFL journey being hired by the Carolina Panthers his senior year six months prior to graduation. His work ethic, drive, collaborative communication, team first approach and experience as a sales and services leader have resulted in upward mobility and expanded responsibility in the industry. He played an integral role in the strategy, development, implementation and sell through of over $100 million in premium seating renovations at Bank of America Stadium since 2015. Through strategic negotiations, key relationships developed in the corporate community throughout the Carolinas, an intense focus on driving revenue and year over year growth culminated in a franchise record in gross ticketing revenue for the Carolina Panthers and #1 in gross ticketing revenue in MLS.
When David isn’t at 800 S. Mint Street, he can be found saltwater fishing off the coast of Carolina, enjoying a round of golf, listening to live music or traveling with his wife, Heather.
