David Nelson is embarking on his 13th year in the professional sports and entertainment industry, with his entire career based in the Carolinas. Presently, he serves as the Head of Premium Partnerships Sales & Services at Tepper Sports & Entertainment. In this role, he is responsible for directing all strategies and operations related to Premium Sales and Services. This includes a range of activities across Tepper Sports & Entertainment's three major entities: the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte FC, and Bank of America Stadium Major Events. Beyond managing premium partnerships for all major events at the stadium, Nelson will be a key player in the future major stadium renovation, leveraging his expertise in the industry, strategic planning and project management to ensure the seamless integration of cutting-edge facilities and technologies, enhancing the overall experience for members.
Originally from the Boston area, he relocated to North Carolina where he attended UNC Charlotte to achieve a degree in business which led to the start of his NFL journey being hired by the Carolina Panthers his senior year six months prior to graduation. His work ethic, drive, collaborative communication, team first approach and experience as a sales and services leader have resulted in upward mobility and expanded responsibility in the industry. He played an integral role in the strategy, development, implementation and sell through of over $100 million in premium seating renovations at Bank of America Stadium since 2015. Through strategic negotiations, key relationships developed in the corporate community throughout the Carolinas, an intense focus on driving revenue and year over year growth culminated in a franchise record in gross revenue for the Carolina Panthers and #1 in gross ticketing revenue in MLS.
In addition to pursuing his MBA at UNC Chapel Hill, when David isn’t at 800 S. Mint Street, he can be found saltwater fishing off the coast of Carolina, enjoying a round of golf, listening to live music or traveling with his wife, Heather.
