SunTrust Park

SunTrust Park combines a classic ballpark feel with modern amenities and southern hospitality to create a truly unique fan experience. Designed by Populous to maximize sightlines for individual seats and club spaces alike, SunTrust Park contains a wide variety of ways to watch the Atlanta Braves play baseball.

The 41,149-seat ballpark was designed with hospitality in mind, resulting in the largest shade canopy in Major League Baseball and the first-ever mesh seats to improve fan comfort in Atlanta’s warm climate. But to fully understand the extent in which hospitality was applied to the ballpark, the club spaces are a must-visit. From the Xfinity Rooftop complete with yard games, cabanas, and an airstream trailer to the SunTrust Club right behind home plate featuring luxurious metal and wood finishes and reserved wine lockers, SunTrust Park truly offers an experience for everyone.

The Xfinity Rooftop and the Coors Light Chop House are two clubs open to any ticket holder. The former was designed to be a large outdoor gathering space with an indoor club, while the latter emphasizes comfort in its use of wood and soft lighting. The Xfinity Rooftop features two different outdoor lounge areas, one offering a view of the field and another which is covered by cabanas, and features a wide variety of yard games. The indoor club space features red lighting for a modern club feel, and its balcony provides a unique view of both the field below and the Battery Atlanta, the mixed-use development adjacent to the ballpark. The Chop House includes a rooftop deck which is available for reservation and a large indoor bar and lounge area, which opens up to a terrace featuring first-of-their-kind refrigerated drink rails.

The Infiniti Club, Delta SKY360 Club, and SunTrust Club are the premium clubs of SunTrust Park. The Infiniti Club sits directly behind the 24 central-most suites, and serves these ticket holders through specialty food and beverage options. The dark blue and white color palette presents a clean and premium feel for the space, while the use of wood in the ceiling and bars add a comfortable feel and premium touch.

Situated below the Infiniti Club on the 100 Level, the Delta SKY360 Club creates a club-within-a-club environment, segmented into different levels like a sports bar, action stations, a sit-down restaurant, and a lounge. The Delta SKY360 Club pays tribute to the rich heritage of the Braves organization with an entire wall of Golden Glove and Silver Slugger awards and upscale finishes like marble bar tops and walnut ceilings.

The SunTrust Club, the park’s most premium environment, is a cashless, all-inclusive environment highlighted by extensive use of deep-grooved pecky cypress wood and polished brass and bronze. This theme is carried into the reserved wine lockers available to SunTrust Club members which are internally illuminated through brass screens.

“It’s the layering of more raw materials with those more refined materials that gave all the spaces within SunTrust Park a unique expression,” said Mason Hansen, Senior Interior Designer at Populous. “All club spaces feature their own variety of colors, materials, and lighting solutions to offer visitors different yet memorable experiences.”

Beyond the clubs, SunTrust Park also offers a host of interactive experiences, including the Monument Garden and Hope & Will’s Sandlot. To showcase the Braves’ illustrious history in a unique way, SunTrust Park does not have a dedicated museum space, but instead scatters memorabilia in stations throughout the ballpark. The largest of these places is the Monument Garden, positioned behind home plate on the main concourse. Featuring jerseys from famous Braves players and video screens positioned along a walkway, Monument Garden’s centerpiece is a larger than life Hank Aaron statue situated atop a waterfall in front of a sculpture made from bats depicting “755” in honor of his 33-year reign as the home run king.

For the youth that come to SunTrust Park, Hope & Will’s Sandlot offers a theme-park-like experience. With a climbing tower, zip lines, a strip where fans race the clock to beat Braves players’ base run times, and an arcade, Hope & Will’s Sandlot is the perfect place for young fans to take a break from the on-field action.

Connecting the ballpark to the city of Atlanta, extensive urban planning efforts enabled SunTrust Park to be opened simultaneously with the Battery Atlanta, a mixed-use development connected directly to the ballpark intended to activate the ballpark grounds 365 days a year. The Battery Atlanta is the largest mixed-use development in the United States, and the first to be opened at the same time as its neighboring sports facility. The Battery Atlanta’s plaza connects to SunTrust Park’s right field gate through a sky bridge connection to the Terrapin ATL Brew Lab, the ballpark’s onsite brewery, which overlooks an amphitheater for hosting pregame concerts. The Battery Atlanta features a number of food and beverage and retail spaces, three apartment complexes, and an indoor theater for concerts and shows.
