Among the wide range of hospitality offerings at SunTrust Park are seven clubs ranging in scale from 5,700 to 15,700 square feet. These spaces were heavily influenced by the rich history of the Atlanta Braves and weave traditional baseball amenities with southern hospitality. After an immersive study of the regional culture, Populous discovered a unique hospitality style defined by equal parts comfort and cosmopolitan. A consistent design language was then established throughout these spaces, creating clubs that are linked while still diverse.
In the 15,700 SF Delta Club, the large volume of space was broken down by introducing features within the club such as a display kitchen with a hand-blackened steel hood flanked with custom banquettes and buffets. In the Delta Club, diverse surface textures were paired together and handmade materials are highlighted by grazed light, providing a built-in patina and a feeling of comfort. The SunTrust Club highlights Atlanta’s local character with the use of their trademark pecky cypress throughout the club’s most intimate spaces. In order to maintain a sense of place across all price points, more casual clubs, such as the Infiniti Club, utilized strategic material placement and detailing to stay within budget while remaining true to the design story. Interior details feature regional textured woods like pecky cypress, quarter sawn walnut, boldly patterned natural stone slabs, handmade tile, custom cast brass chandeliers, hand-blown glass chandeliers, hand-painted wallcoverings, blackened steel panels and custom leather built-ins, to name a few.
Throughout the clubs of SunTrust, the Populous design team had to balance a practical knowledge of the complex building type with a thoughtful approach to interior design to create authentic hospitality experiences. It is the fusion of right-sized amenities, sense a place and attention to detail that elevates the fan experience at SunTrust Park.
